Helen Crawford Pack of cards

"My inspiration comes from seasonal and atmospheric effects on the light, colours and textural details sketched during walks on the Malvern Hills, the Black Mountains, and the wild coastlines of the Western Isles of Scotland; also from literary works, including words from Shakespeare, and poetry by Edward Thomas, Robert Frost and Pauline Prior- Pitt. Most of my birch tree inspired works are on silk paper, with hand dyed silk fibres, mixed media, collage and stitch. I also combine stitch with acrylic paints on felt, which allows me to indulge my love of painting, and has led to a series of large semi-abstract pieces inspired by the pristine shorelines of the Outer Hebrides."
