BOOKS

Carl Flint
Valerie McLean works in Herefordshire as a painter and printmaker, interested in Book Arts. She has worked for many years as a community artist in hospitals and centres drawing on an earlier career as a trained nurse.

Valerie's work reflects and interest in places that seem set apart and my book containing artwork and collected memories about May Hill was published in 2006. The dramatic silhouette of May Hill with its clump of trees on the top has remained an unmistakable landmark down the ages and has drawn people to it to gather at important times.
A new book about the sights and spirit of Kilpeck and other churches will be published in August 2012.

Jackie Morris

Jackie Morris is an artist, author and illustrator. She lives and works in a small house by the sea in Wales. Internationally published and award winning, Morris works mainly in watercolour. Recent titles include Mrs Noah's Pockets in collaboration with James Mayhew, The Lost Words, in collaboration with Robert Macfarlane and The Quiet Music of Gently Falling Snow, nominated for the Greenaway award 2018.

Karin Celestine
Karin Celestine lives in a small house in Monmouth, Wales. In her garden there is a shed and in that shed is another world. The world of Celestine and the Hare. It is a world where weasels are ruled by King Norty, pandas ride space hoppers and bears read stories to each other. It is a place that makes people smile and where kindness is the order of the day.

Karin brings to life creatures of all kinds using only needlecelted wool, observation and the power of imagination. She also writes children’s books featuring her felted creatures.

Jonathan Lumby has illustrated all of her life, written for some of it. Her books are published in about 14 languages, and her cards are sent all over the world.
She grew up in Evesham, but now lives in a small house, made by cards and dreams, beside the sea in Pembrokeshire where she continues to write and paint.
She is currently illustrating a book for Barrington Stoke and collaborating on a project with Robert MacFarlane, a book about words, language, nature.
